CLAT 2022 Preparation Tips: Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 is around the corner, and law aspirants across the country are focusing their heart and soul on securing the best rank for a career in Law or LLB. Focused aspirants spend their time taking hours of coaching from best mentors, practising mock tests, brushing up on current affairs by reading dailies, taking CLAT online coaching, solving previous year question papers, appearing for mock test series and mentoring. Divide between taking. Faculty and alumnus of prestigious law schools. They are leaving no stone unturned to secure a good rank that will secure their seat in the institutions of their dreams.
How to do strategy?
How will you make good use of your time? If you have to give CLAT along with board exams then the question is how will you manage both? What are the last-minute exam tips and score improvement strategies that you should focus on?
1. Set Your Goal – Stay Motivated
If you still don’t know how to motivate yourself to read books, here is one way. Start with understanding what you are getting into. Around 60,000 students are opting for CLAT in 2018. If you aim for the best – National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU), you have 75 seats. Now count the number of people competing per seat. Out of all the candidates, around 25% or more are dropouts. do you know what this means? You are competing against people who have been preparing for a year or two. If you are aiming for top 4 law schools, you have 333 seats against the same number. Imagine how hard you have to work.
2. Plan Your Event
If you are appearing for your board exams, chances are that you will not be able to study at all. However, if you are a fast learner, give at least 2 hours a day. Is it very difficult? You need to dedicate at least 1 hour to legal reasoning. Marks in this category are given priority in the case where there is a tie in the overall CLAT score. You need to honestly devote half an hour to current affairs, and the remaining half an hour can be devoted to English, Logical Reasoning and Maths alternately.

3. Block 3 PM to 5 PM
Since the CLAT exam is conducted between these hours, on the second Sunday of May; This is when summer is at its peak, and many centres do not even have comfortable ACs. There is also the problem of power failure in some centres. Also, this time of day is extremely lethargic. It may sound ludicrous, but when your ultimate goal is to perform and score at your best, they are great distractions. To overcome this, dedicate 3 PM to 5 PM from your schedule, exclusively for CLAT preparation.
4. Practice
Practising is important to crack CLAT. Suppose you have conditioned your mind to work between 3 pm to 5 pm, you are well aware of the current affairs of the world and you are equally motivated. On D-Day, you are given a paper in the exam hall, but you are slow. Why? Because you forgot to practice.
You need to practice consciously to solve mock papers and previous years question papers which give you an edge over the competition. The more you practice, the better the speed will be developed which will ensure that you crack the 200 multiple choice questions asked in CLAT. As a bonus, you will also realize how to divide your time category wise while attempting CLAT. My legal logic teacher taught me this little trick – don’t mind any question, if you can’t figure out the answer, move on to the next one. This will not only save your time but will also ensure that you do not lose the questions where you can score. You can always come back to the other question about which you are confused at the end.

Subject wise CLAT preparation tips
Here’s one way you can cover each category and give the others a hard time:
A. Legal Qualification
Most important of them all, Legal Aptitude tests your ability to apply legal knowledge to practice. Here, you need to understand the law and see which answer applies the most. An easier option is to go by the rule of elimination. There will always be one answer which is absurd. You can finish it straight away. An answer would be too good to be true. It may sound morally correct, but there will be no enforcement by law. You need to end this too. The major problem lies in the next two answers, you need to see which one has the legal backing and pick the one. I’ll give you an example:
B. English comprehension
In the year 2011, NUJS set the bar high for English comprehension by giving the entire section 4 long articles. Most of the CLAT examinees that year could not even attempt the entire paper. For this topic, I will tell you two easy methods which can be very helpful.
C. Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning is all about practising, reasoning and knowing tricks. There are some tips that come in handy:
For coding-decoding questions, you really need to remember letters by numbers. Once you’ve got the question, but the numbers on top of the letters. This way you will be able to easily find out the pattern and solve the questions easily.
For relationship-related questions, try making a family tree chart. The relationship asked should be a question mark in the family tree chart. This will make it very easy for you. For questions on the Venn diagram, draw the diagram yourself and solve the questions quickly. For statements and assumptions, the same method of elimination is used.
